I Think I Could Be Crazy - July 12, 2005

Well tons has happened since I last blogged. My newest little rugrat has arrived. Rachel Michelle was born on May 20, 2005 weighing 5 pounds 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Talk about an easy labor & delivery. They had to induce me because of pre-eclampsia...definitely a last minute thing! Talk about a rush! Well finally I was at the hospital; medicine running through the IV to get my labor started; after waiting all night and most of the day I finally had I think four hard contractions and that was right about the time they came to put my epidural in. Back to sleep I go. A few hours later I wake up to find the nurse standing beside the bed; said they should do another check on me soon...okay I said. Apparently the doctors and nurses thought I had a while to go before the baby came...said she was still pretty far up in the birth canal. So here is the doctor to check me; she says push a little and let me see if I can feel her head....okay I say. So I push...exactly what they asked me to do. Stop, stop, stop they say! Apparently that one little push had pushed her head almost out. So there I lay, the doctor holding the baby's head inside me while everyone else is running around like crazy getting all the equipment ready to deliver my baby...they didn't even have the incubator in the room yet...lol Finally I get to "push" my baby the rest of the way out...and I use quotations because she pretty much just slid the rest of the way out. My little girl was just beautiful, amazing, precious...I could go on and on. There's nothing like the feeling of seeing your baby for the first time after feeling her in your womb all those months. Of all the memories I have the most vivid ones are the ones when I first lay eyes upon my girls...and their eyes locked with mine. Makes my heart flutter just thinking about it.Speaking of those three little rugrats they are all asleep on my bed here beside me. They are so amazing...I love to watch them sleep..just something about it. Rachel is so loved. My Emilee babies her...she is like a little momma with her. I swear when she grows up she will do something with children. Maybe a pediatrician or a daycare manager...well you get the drift. Now Sara thinks Rachel is her own personal baby doll. She hugs Rachel up real tight to her and says 'mine'. And she likes to cover her up with a blanket and then jerk it off...actually she likes to jerk of the blankets I cover the baby up with too. And Sara likes to give Rachel her pacifier and then just as Rachel is sucking it real good, Sara likes to jerk it out of her mouth...lol Poor Rachel...All in all things are going really well. Not much jealously to deal with at all...the baby is sleeping through the night now; no problems to deal with; life is good. We have family up from Florida due to hurricane Dennis. God has blessed them once again...He blessed us first when Ivan ripped through Pensacola. Not much damage to their homes and what damage their was, was minor. This time we don't have any damage to their homes at all....now we are just waiting on the electricity to be fixed. So thank you Lord for blessing this family! Now we are watching for the next tropical storm/hurricane to choose it's path. Guess what it's name is? Hurricane Emily...and if it's anything like my daughter and what she does to her bedroom, well it could be a doozy! Well that said, I'm off to put the little ones to their own beds. Until next time...

Can I Stop Now? - May 5, 2005

I swear it feels like I haven't stopped for at least a year now...lol The family went to Florida this past weekend. We left Thursday afternoon, got there Friday. Saturday we had Sara's birthday party at Chucky Cheese's. My baby is two years old now....how time flies. We had an Elmo cake. Sara blew the candles out...well she had help; she sticks her finger in the side of the cake for a taste; the waitress meanwhile is serving slices of cake from the non-Sara side; Sara is watching with interest as her cake is disappearing...then she grabs a fork and digs right in the middle of the cake and starts eating. Serious business! Then daddy decides to take the cake away and she just boo-hoos..mean daddy! But she survived obviously. Sara gots tons of neat toys...at first she played with this Fisher Price puppy that talked and sang...that was her favorite. Now it's this balloon that came on one of the gifts and also this Winnie the Pooh that she can dress and stuff. Tomorrow it'll be something different. All in all she had a wonderful party. Now Sunday we had Kadie's birthday party; she turned one. She had a pool party....lots of fun. Of course Michael went in with Sara...Sara didn't want to let go of him so she only stayed in a few minutes. Now miss Emilee on the other hand put on her floaties and jumped right in the 8 foot section of the pool....she loves to swim! After the party we packed up and hit the road for home. Whirlwind trip!!!Tuesday I had to go in for a non-stress test for the baby. Rachel decided she would rather take a nap than move around. Finally after an hour she moved three times and they said I was good to go till next time. Did I mention I had a contraction while I was lying there? Well I did. I've been having contractions for weeks now. Today, Thursday, I went for another ultrasound...Rachel weighs 6 pounds 4 ounces now; she's supposed to gain 1/2 pound per week now until I deliver....May 29th! The girl is going to be a big baby...eek! I am sooooo ready to have this baby! On that note I'm out of here...need sleep! Feild day is tomorrow at Emilee's school so I need rest:)

Reunited Finally!

Jack & Jennifer - Finally Reunited Finally after a year of waiting Days of Our Lives has finally reunited my favorite supercouple! I swear I'd almost given up on the show all together...actually I'd resigned to downloading video clips off the internet of Jack & Jennifer and skipping the rest of the show all together. That's how bad the state of the show is today.A little backstory on what happened....we have the Salem Serial Killer who starts killing off our favorite characters, long time veterans of the show actually back in the fall of 2003. Our hearts were torn to pieces watching this happen...especially watching Jennifer say goodbye to Jack...she donated his organs, had a funeral, etc...so our Jack was gone except for the ghostly appearance he made to Jennifer to say a final goodbye. Months later, summer of 2004, Jennifer gets a tip that her husband is alive...she goes to find him and ends up in a plane crash that leaves the pilot dead and her stranded on this island, where Jack is being held captive, along with the other victims of the Salem Serial Killer. We had this wonderful reunion between the two of them in the rain and fans were happy again...We have this wild ride through the jungle with Jack & Jennifer, falling off cliffs, rope bridges breaking, Jennifer stranded on a cliff going in labor with Jack MIA trying to find her; finally the baby is delivered without daddy present...grrrrrr....and we have more island adventures. Finally fall 2004 the island captives escape on life rafts and one speedboat to go home, only to have this huge tidal wave hit and half the captives are missing again, Jack included, presumed dead. We find out that they have been captured yet again by the same presumed dead captor from before and are now being held in a castle overseas. Big sigh...Jack is determined to get back to his one true love and children. He tries to escape many times before finally getting it done and coming home to Salem. He shares a wonderfully romantic reunion with Jennifer, but doesn't get to see his children yet...turns out Jennifer is actually an imposter planted by the captor...Jack is stunned as she rips off a facial mask and reveals her true self to be NOT Jennifer; Jack is taken back to the castle from Salem, yet again. Still following this mess????Finally we get an even more pissed off Jack who digs a tunnel through the castle, finds more of the captives and helps them escape, watches the castle burn to the ground while shooting his evil captor with what I think was a look of glee in his eye:) Can you really blame him? Finally Jack gets home to Salem to learn his daughter was in a tragic car accident (two people died) so he rushes to the hospital to overhear his wife and daughter praying and thanking God for the time they had with him. It's his daughter's 17th birthday...which has been magically rescheduled to April from October (don't you hate when they do this)....so here is Jack at the door with Abby's birthday cake, Abby opens her eyes and says daddy's here...Jennifer turns around and the two rush into each other's arms...FINALLY!!! And happiness happens.I swear sometimes I wonder what I see in this stuff sometimes...Seriously would you have stuck it out this long? With the wonderful performances of Matthew Ashford and Missy Reeves it is definitely worth it....this supercouple has been well super since 1989 so how could you not love them? But we can all wish Days would have better writers....Headache yet? Tylenol anyone?

What A Day!

It has been one of those days again. I've been cleaning the house for two days now and still not done...it seems like it is always like this after my husband goes back to work on Mondays; he's a slob, my daughter is a slob, and I have a two year old...it's never ending! But all the junk is picked up now...technically if it wasn't mine it's in the trash if I had to pick it up, is that harsh? I don't really care. Trash men will love me come Monday morning. Gotta get packed to go to Florida tomorrow. Finally got most of the laundry caught up today; wasn't really behind until I started cleaning up Emilee's room and then Michael's of course. I'm so tired I don't even know what I'm writing...grrrrrrrrrrrOn that note I think I'll try this another day when I make more sense:P

Another Day

Another day gone by. Went for my NST (Non-Stress Test) today. Everything's fine...baby's heartrate is great, baby moves as needed. And then the lab surprises me with 'we need a tube of blood'. I swear you'd think these people are vampires or something. I don't mind having my blood drawn...provided whoever is doing it doesn't dig around in my arm for five minutes; cause then we have a problem. But as it turns out, the lady that took my blood today was really great...didn't even feel a thing! I'm pretty sure though that if the lab was to save all the blood they've taken from me this past year or so, I'd be pretty well off if I ever need a transfusion. Anyways...Sara's birthday is next weekend. April 30th...hard to believe my itty bitty baby is going to be two years old already. I swear it was yesterday I just delivered her. No idea what we're getting her for her birthday...a trip to Florida I suppose; just kidding. But we are taking off for a weekend trip to visit with family. We did the same thing last year on her birthday...had this big bash at Chucky Cheese's; Sara does not like the mouse, of course who wouldn't...he is pretty scary I suppose. We had a Strawberry Shortcake them last year....I think this year I'm going to do Sesame Street or Barney if I can talk my husband into it....Michael once had this game on the computer where Barney comes out on the screen and you get to shoot him. I told him our kids would need therapy because of that game...lol

Cherishing The Rugrats

Went to the doctor today; specifically the OB doctor. Baby's heart rate sounds great but...yes there is always a but with me it seems. Had some protein in my urine sample so now I have to collect all my urine for the next 24 hours...how wierd is that? They gave me a jug and this little thing to catch the urine in the toilet and told me to make sure to keep it refrigerated. I can see it now...my husband gets up in the middle of the night dying of thirst, grabs the nearest jug in the 'frig and screams in disgust. Anyways...wierd topic huh?So Friday I have to go back to the OB and have a Non-Stress Test done....the short of it, they count how many times the baby moves in a certain period of time and this determines if the baby is under any stress. I had tons of these done with Miss Emilee, just not so early. Here's hoping the baby doesn't decide to take her nap then. It's supposed to rain tonight...I really hope it does because hopefully it will wash all the pollen away. I swear the van is brown...and it is originally blue. Woke up this morning and my voice was gone...not a good thing when you've got two rambunctious little girls to look after. Speaking of the rugrats they are doing much better. Emilee came home from school with this huge scrape/cut on her knee; said some kid pushed her down....is it wrong to tell her to push back? Because everything in my being was screaming to tell her that...but the mommy in me says 'well it must've been an accident huh?' It's so hard sometimes to know what to say and do...most of the time I just want to run and protect her but in this life she is going to have to learn to stand up for herself. Don't think this means if some bully is bothering her day in and day out that I wouldn't be the first in line to kick their ass for her...lol The drama.Miss Sara's cough is much better today...she still coughs but at least she doesn't act like she is going to puke everytime now. In the waiting room at the doctor today, there were some other babies Sara's age....she is just so fascinated by the little people her size. It must be the age group because the other babies were interested too...just not as much as Sara. Sara is such a friendly, caring baby. She pushes a seat over to the little girl and pats it; telling her to have a seat. Then she jabbers and talks with her hands for a bit...then leans her head over sideways looking at the little girl waiting for a response. I swear I could sit and watch her all day sometimes. It's just amazing the things she says and does on a daily basis. I missed alot of this when Emilee was growing up; she was in daycare alot and I worked. I'd give anything to be able to go back and change that, but I guess everything happens for a reason huh? All I can do is cherish the time I have with her now.I'm taking Emilee to see Disney On Ice this weekend. Tickets are outrageous but I promised her we'd go. I can't wait...I've always wanted to go see this show....I think I may be more excited than she is...who's the kid here now? It's almost time for the new Star Wars movie to premiere. I cannot wait! Huge Star Wars fan here....I think my most favorite out of the new movies is Episode II...it's got it all; the adventure, the romance...gorgeous locations. I've refrained from reading any spoilers about the new movie...I mean we all know what's going to happen in the end. Anakin is turned into Vader....and I think almost all Star Wars fans know what happened to cause this don't they? This new Pope we have....does anyone else find it strange that his name is Benedict? I've got a bad feeling about this...just rubs me the wrong way, instincts I guess, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.Well sleep is calling my name...the benedryl is kicking in again and the pillow is beckoning me. Have a great night....

They're Out To Get Me

Somehow they're out to get me. Those little monsters that get to decide if you deserve sleep or not...and no I'm not talking about my girls, haha. Allergy season is well into full bloom and apparently someone has decided that I should suffer with the best of them. Both of my girls are stuffy and cranky, so it only makes sense that I am too. A friend told me to drink hot tea and honey; it works. My throat is so stinkin' sore that I can barely talk; hot tea...drink it. So that's my whine factor for today, what's yours?

Coffee Anyone?

What a day! After being awake most of the night with Miss Sara, I thought I'd let Miss Emilee stay home from school today because I was sure she still felt yucky from yesterday; apparently I was wrong. I swear she must've drank a pot of coffee before Sara and I got up this morning because the girl has been going non-stop all day. She wouldn't listen to a word I said!So I called Sara's doctor since she was awake till 3am this morning and left a message for a nurse to call me back; by 3:30 this afternoon noone had called so I just loaded them up and went to the doctor in person. Turns out Sara's allergies are acting up, and the doctor gave her a prescription for some cough medicine...albuterol. So now....instead of one hyperactive child, I have two. Ironic huh? But the cough is better.Pizza for supper....Sara wouldn't eat a thing; Emilee made 10 trips to the buffet the first 10 minutes we were there. I threatened her. Sara was wild; wouldn't sit in the high chair; wouldn't sit in the booster seat; kept stuffing napkins in all the food...decided I didn't need the soup anyhow. Sara keeps throwing stuff on the floor, so I smack her bottom and tell her no....she gives me that cute little smile she does and then leans over to kiss me on the nose. Now how am I supposed to beat that?I swear they look like perfect little angels....but did I tell you looks can be deceiving?
